Description

The creation and use of standardized contracts and change order processes benefits the entire construction industry. This session will provide the tools you need to support your change order requests and promote a standardized change order protocol. The industry standard contract documents, ConsensusDocs, of which NECA is a founding member, will also be discussed to provide NECA members with another resource to reach a fair agreement with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors.

  • Greg Long

    Greg was introduced to the Electrical Construction industry by his father Norman who worked in the industry as an electrician and Foreman for 42 years. Greg started in the electrical industry in 1979 and completed the IBEW apprenticeship in 1984. In 1990, Greg opened Long Electric Company. Greg has seen the company grow from a small public works based electrical contractor to one of the premier electrical contractors in the North Bay.

    Greg has extensive experience overseeing electrical construction projects in all market segments and sizes, following both the pre-engineered method as well as design-build project delivery. As company President, Greg’s involvement for the projects come from the senior level, where he can offer insight to specific project challenges. Prior to becoming a contractor, Greg gained years of valuable experience in the electrical trade as an IBEW 180 Electrical Apprentice, Journeyman and Foreman.

    Greg is not only dedicated to the improvement of Long Electric Company but also invests a great deal of effort into bettering the electrical industry as a whole. Greg’s current industry affiliations:
    Currently Chairman of Solano-Napa Electrical Contractors Trust (ECT)

    Currently serves on the Board of Directors as Vice President and Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) – Northern California Chapter. Current Chairman of ELECTRI International.
