The Lean Job Shop concept has been applied in manufacturing industries, with an emphasis on managing the flow of products/assemblies, rather than on using technology and automation and it can be a successful approach to managing your own fabrication shops. This session will discuss the type of automation that best fits the needs of electrical contractors.

Hisham Said
Hisham Said is an Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil Engineering at Santa Clara University. His research interests include prefabrication, construction logistics, and telematics-based equipment fleet management. He is a recipient of ASCE EXCEed Fellowship, ASCE CRC 2012 Best Paper Award, AGC 2013 Faculty Internship award, and ELECTRI 2014 Early Career Award. His research is published in more than 40 articles of leading academic journals and conferences, as well as industry reports.
